National August Wilson Monologue Competition - Center Theatre Group has been the Los Angeles home for the National August Wilson Monologue Competition since 2011. More than a contest, the August Wilson Monologue Competition is an educational journey that includes workshops with teaching artists where students hone their acting and storytelling skills; auditions where theatre professionals offer feedback to all participants; and an introduction to August Wilson and The American Century Cycle.

Jerry Herman Awards - A series of Adjudicators visit our school during the run of Shrek. Awards to be nominated after adjudication. This is a potential pathway to the Jimmy Awards in New York City!
Musical Theatre West competition. Select students are invited to participate with a Musical Theatre solo performance. Scholarships may be won. Past Poly scholarship winners include Xo Hayes, Dane Camacho, Mica Ramos, Amanda Angeles. Categories include Vocal Performance, Dance, Stage Tech.
